Where has the time gone?

Despite my New Year's resolution to keep the blog updated more regularly, I have sadly fallen way too far behind yet again! Things have been busy at our house since last I updated! Luke has gone from taking a few steps here and there to speed walking anywhere and everywhere! Sitting in the grocery cart is no longer the cool thing to do for the fast paced 14 month old. Neither is holding on to Mommy or Daddy's hand! Suddenly our little boy who can hardly stand to let a stranger near him has decided to make any new place an adventure and see how far and how fast he can get away! It has made shopping interesting, but it is still so much fun to see how quickly he has gotten the hang of things!

Things have also picked up a bit in the communication department. Although people without the finely tuned ear develoiped by spending all day with a toddler may not understand him. Luke has several new words as of late, and he likes to use them a lot! His two faovrites are definitely "Dog" and "Hot". Luke gets so excited any time he sees a dog, and a lot of the time any four legged animal becomes a dog, but the real deal always gets the best reaction. He knows that the fireplace and the stove are hot and won't hesitate to tell you. He's also recently started saying "Up" when he wants to be held.

There are a couple of other fun new tricks as well. Luke has a great set of barnyard animals from Grandma and Grandpa Ford, and he can now pick out the cow and the sheep and will make their sound when he finds them. He can also pick out a couple of his favorite books, and is eager to have you read them to him as many times as you can stand!

January was an interesting month around our house, because Carl traveled to Korea for work for 2 weeks! It was a long two weeks, but Luke and I spent the first week up in Dallas and had a great time! We spent a lot of time working on walking at the Dallas Zoo and the Dallas World Aquarium.
